Abduction attempt – witnesses sought

Police in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and information after the attempted abduction of a woman in Moordown earlier today.

The 20-year-old victim, was waiting at a bus stop outside 786  Wimborne Road in Moordown at approximately 11.10am, when a man took hold of her and tried to force her to go with him.

She screamed and the man immediately let go and ran away towards Winton town centre. The woman was shocked but uninjured.

The man is described as 45 to 55 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and of skinny build with skinny arms.

He is also described as scruffy, with collar length light brown hair and a full beard. He was believed to be wearing a baggy blue t-shirt.

PC Chris Griffin, of Bournemouth Police, said: “I need to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident and anyone whose attention was drawn to a woman screaming.

“I’m particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have seen this man in the Wimborne Road area of Moordown between 11.10am and 11.15am today.”
