The malls of Bournemouth’s Castlepoint Shopping Park reverberated with the stirring sound of bagpipes to celebrate Burns Night. As Jeremy Martin from the Wessex Highland Pipers played, shoppers followed the procession of the Haggis. Scottish Castlepoint employee Ian MacMillan, then gave a recitation of Burns' poetry before the gathered crowd of shoppers were invited to try a free sample of Haggis.
Castlepoint’s General Manager Peter Matthews said that the celebration of the life and poetry of the poet Robert Burns was appreciated by many of the shopping park’s visitors.
“Our Glaswegian Ian looked superb in full kilt for the procession and many people sampled the taste of haggis for the first time.”
