You might think that we are entering the bleakest time of the year, but not according to Dorset Wildlife Trust. The conservation charity has launched a Big Pub Quiz Month for January 2009 to raise awareness of the wonderful wildlife around in winter.
It is hoped that as many Dorset pubs as possible will join in to help their local wildlife. Pubs which already run quiz nights are invited to make it a real wildlife night, either by adding a small extra fee for entry to the quiz or by displaying collection tins for the month. Pubs who don’t have a regular quiz could host one just for January. DWT can provide collection tins, posters and even wildlife questions.
Kizzy Brown, Marketing and Fundraising Manager for Dorset Wildlife Trust, said: “Winter is a wonderful time of year to explore what Dorset has to offer and also a great time for a cosy night at the pub, helping us to raise funds. DWT is the only local charity working to conserve all the county’s wildlife, whilst standing up for nature against poor development and looking after Dorset’s most beautiful places.”
To help ensure that everyone can enjoy Dorset’s beauty for generations to come and to get involved with the Big Pub Quiz Month in January, contact Kizzy on 01305 264620 or email kbrown@dorsetwildlife.co.uk.
