‘Bike It’ and breakfast in Parley

Cyclists at Parley First School were invited for an early start yesterday (6 July) and enjoyed a healthy breakfast, with generous donations of fruit and orange juice from the local Tesco Express and Ferndown Tesco.

The school has recently joined the ‘Bike It’ scheme and has been working towards achieving the Bronze Clog Award. This is a scheme run by  the charity Sustrans (sustainable transport), whereby children are encouraged to cycle, scoot or walk to school, rather than go by car.

Seventy-three children joined the breakfast , and the short downpour in the middle only dampened the playing field, and not their spirits.

The event finished with a 'slow race' for each of the key stages with prizes donated given to the winners.
