Nearly 100 riders of all ages were led by the Mayor and Mayoress of Christchurch on a Community Cycle Ride.
The Mayor, Cllr Nick Geary and his wife Gillian, took the riders out from Saxon Square and followed a route through the town, then down the bike path to Stanpit before arriving at Mudeford Quay. They returned along a similar route, but finished at the Quomps at Christchurch Quay where medals were presented to everyone who took part.
The event was organised by the Travel & Access Group of Christchurch Community Partnership in conjunction with Travel Choice, a county-wide initiative to reduce dependence on the car, and promote cheaper, greener and healthier modes of travel.
The Mayor said, "It was an absolutely fantastic event which I was proud to be part of. It's wonderful to see so many people of all ages together enjoying themselves on bicycles. It shows a tremendous community spirit and I'm very grateful to the Travel & Access Group for organising such a brilliant day."
