Ferndown in Bloom (FiB) 2012 is underway and needs you to take an interest.
FiB needs a new volunteer competition organiser for 2012, plus individual, community group or business involvement.
Having received a grant of £300 from Ferndown Town Council, the stage is set for another successful competition. FiB is also pleased to continue in partnership with the generous sponsorship of Haskins Garden Centre.
People’s gardens and spaces that can be seen from the road, business frontages, and schools and residential homes are all challenged to get involved to make Ferndown ‘A brighter place to live’. Entry forms will be available in early spring, but now is the time to start thinking about your entry. This year, there will be a Jubilee themed class, so get your thinking caps on!
FiB Chairman Steven Lugg said, “We are delighted to have taken the competition from nothing to 100 entries in three years. In addition with Big Lottery funds, we have revitalised Harmont Community Wood with the owners, the King George V Charity, for the benefit of residents. We now need a little more input from residents, to continue on our path of success in improving our local environment together.”
Anyone interested should contact the Chairman on 07531 352091 or email ferndowninbloom@rocketmail.com before 16th Feb. Any community organisation or individual wanting to be part of, or support the committee should also contact FiB.
The FiB AGM will take place in the Cedar Room, Haskins Restaurant at 5pm on Thursday, 16 February.
