Bonnets at the ready!

It’s time to dust off your bonnets or make yourself a new one for the annual Ringwood Easter Bonnet Parade.

Due to take place on 9 April, this traditional event  with dozens of children in colourful bonnets, and little tots dressed as bunnies, will be a spectacle to behold.

There are three bonnet categories: 5 years and under, 6-8 years and 9-14 years and one category for the bunnies.  Judging takes place at 11am and there are prizes of Easter eggs and toy vouchers.

The parade starts at 11.45am with the children in bonnets and the bunnies climbing aboard a decorated wagon and vintage cars provided by the Dorset Austin Seven Club.

The Furlong donkeys, Cinderella and Pedr will also be there in wonderful headgear.

Other activities include birds of prey from Liberties Raptor and Reptile Centre,  Count Backwards giving a magical show (10.30am), and the Dolphin Marching Band.
