‘Brief Encounter’ for one night only!

Have you ever wanted to see David Lean’s classic adaptation of ‘Brief Encounter’ on the big screen?

Now’s your chance.

At a special screening, organised by the town mayor, Robin Cook, you can sob your heart out in a real theatre atmosphere, just like everyone did in 1945 when this romantic movie brought incredible passion to a Britain recovering from World War II.  Make sure you have a plentiful supply of tissues as you follow suburban housewife, Laura Jesson (Celia Johnson) embarking on a romantic liaison with the  respectable Dr Alec Harvey (Trevor Howard), accompanied by Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No 2.

To further enhance this terrific opportunity, one of the stars of the film (from the tea room), Margaret Barton (now Margaret James) will  give an audience at this special charity event.  Proceeds will go to the town mayor’s chosen charities: Friends of the Tivoli and Wimborne in Bloom.

Noel Coward’s ‘Brief Encounter’ will be at the Tivoli Theatre, West Borough, Wimborne on 8 April at 7.30pm.  Tickets are only £6 and can be purchased from the box office on 01202 885566.  Book now before the event is sold out.
