Cats cause curiosity on Industrial Estate

The Cats Protection’s first carnival day drew the crowds.

People were curious about the new rehoming centre based on Ferndown Industrial Estate in Dorset, which has only recently been opened, and turned up in droves.

As well as cats and kittens that needed homes, visitors found BBC South Today weathergirl Reham Khan, the Mayor of Ferndown Cllr Jean Read and town crier Mike Andrews, all of whom, were there to officially open the event.

A carnival atmosphere with entertainment and stalls helped make the day a great success.

The cat rehoming centre cost £1.75M.  As well as a spacious cattery for up to fifty cats, there is an isolation ward, isolation veterinary ward, meeting room, staff room, socialisation room and spacious reception.

Already over 50 cats have been rehomed and there are over thirty waiting for loving homes.
