Christchurch residents celebrated all that’s good about the town in the second annual Community Celebration.

The event was organised by volunteers enthusiastic about Christchurch and was based on the ancient Trinity Fair. Over sixty Christchurch-based groups and organisations set up stalls in Saxon Square and in Druitt Gardens, and local groups provided entertainment. A Countess Mable Memorial raffle was held to raise funds for the new Druitt Hall, and Herbert Druitt himself made an appearance to muster support.
Mayor of Christchurch, Cllr Nick Geary, and the winner of the XChurch Factor, Julie Petrie, officially opened the celebrations.
Almost £1,000 was raised and will go towards Druitt Hall, Christchurch Priory and next year’s event.
Christchurch groups interested in joining in next year should watch the website for details. www.focuschristchurch.co.uk
