Christchurch Community Partnership is getting set to celebrate its third annual Community Action Fortnight, which takes place from 27 March to 12 April 2009.
The programme of events includes art exhibitions, workshops, concerts and craft fairs.
Two special events are also taking place during the Action Fortnight. On 29 March from 10am to 3pm sees the launch of the Fit Christchurch initiative which takes place at Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre. This aims to increase the number of people who engage in regular physical activity, eat healthily and achieve or maintain a healthy body mass.
Also on 29 March at 2.30pm in the Regent Centre, there will be a showing of the film ‘A Crude Awakening’ followed by an informal discussion on issues raised by the film, which looks at climate change and the finite resource of oil.
A programme giving full details of all events during the fortnight is available from the Civic Offices, Christchurch Information Centre, the Libraries and other information points. It is also available on www.dorsetforyou.com on the Christchurch Community Partnership page.
