Council gives grant to CAB

In addition to the annual funding of £66,950 for the Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB), from East Dorset District Council, the council has made a further grant of £27,000 over the next three years.

The CAB has obtained funding from their national body, and this will now be match funded by the district council. The extra grant will allow the Bureau to maintain staffing levels, enabling staff to better deal with the additional workload generated by the current recession.

Volunteers who are trained to a very high standard and who are willing to serve their community by assisting others run the CAB. They offer advice on a wide range of subjects, from divorce to pensions to insurance claims etc.

The CAB provides an invaluable service and offers sound advice and assistance. It also informs people about what benefits they may be entitled to.
