5th Annual Short Story Competition now the mags4dorset Creative Writing Awards

Wow! Our short story competition has become so strong over the last four years that we have decided to introduce two extra categories enabling more writers to take part.
Plus, in our 10th year in business, we are changing the title to the mags4dorset Creative Writing Awards.
This means we will be giving away more prizes and extending the platform to reach more writers.
The categories are:
Short Story; Poetry up to 30 lines; Article

The themes for 2012 are:
Short Story 1,000 words: Losing it
Poetry: up to 30 lines - open
Article 850 words: An accolade. This could be to a famous local person in Dorset or Hampshire – for example an architect, poet, writer, nurse, wildlife enthusiast, artist and can be a person out of the history books or someone contemporary. It could also be an accolade to an unsung hero. One photograph can be included.

Short Story 1st prize - £150 plus publication in any of our magazines, which includes publication on the website where the magazines can be downloaded.
Poem  1st prize - £50 plus publication as stated above.
Article 1st prize- £75 plus publication as stated above.
Close date for all categories is Friday, 7 September 2012.
Entry Fees:
Short Story - £4 per story, £6 for two, £8 for three (max)
Poetry – up to four poems £4
Article – up to two articles £4

RULES:
1.  The themes for 2012 must be followed.
2.  Word lengths are a guideline, but please stick close to them. Poetry must not exceed 30 lines.
3.  All content must be your own work and your entry must not have been published, won a prize anywhere else or be entered for another competition at the same time.
4.  Give your entry a title, but do not put your name on it. Ensure a covering sheet with the title of your work(s) and your name and address is included with your entry.
5.  Entries will not be returned, so please keep your own copy.
6.  The correct entry fee must be submitted.
7.  No email or handwritten entries are permitted.
8.  Fill in an entry form. Photocopies accepted.
9.  Close date is Friday, 7 September 2012.

Rules must be adhered to otherwise your entry will not be able to win.
