Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Urban Wildlife Day goes to the seaside at Boscombe.
Wild about Boscombe! is a free event with wildlife fun for families. There will be activities and crafts for children as well as live animals and the chance to learn about the wildlife around Bournemouth.
The day will also feature folk music and storytelling from Tim Laycock as well as a chance to help an artist to create a wildlife sculpture. The Hi-Tech Wild-Trek Trailer will be there, with video equipment linked to microscopes, computer and giant screen for examining and identifying mini-beast wildlife on the spot.
This will be a chance to try the brand new nature trail through the gardens, which is being opened by the Mayor of Bournemouth at 11am. There will also be a host of activities from badger, otter and other local wildlife groups, while on the seafront the focus will be on the wildlife of our seas and beaches.
Wild about Boscombe! Is on Saturday 18 July from 10.30am to 3.30pm at Boscombe Chine Gardens, Boscombe Pier & Seafront. No need to book, but more information from Dorset Wildlife Trust’s Urban Team on 01202 692033.
