The mayor of Ringwood, Councillor Brian Terry, and the mayoress will be attending the new group's inaugural get-together. Bournemouth International Centre - Bournemouth Folk Festival. Local favourites join a bill that includes electrifying Anglo-Spanish outfit Urban Folk Quartet, globe-trotting trio Korasong Radio and acclaimed musician and singer Alex Roberts. Singer-songwriter Martyn Joseph headlines on Saturday afternoon as well as fronting his own songwriting workshop. Saturday’s afternoon session also includes Martha Tilston and The Woods, as well as 2001 BBC Folk Awards Musician of the Year Andy Cutting and Australian singer-songwriter Emily Barker and her band the Red Clay Halo. Dorset - A Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge takes place in aid of the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. Hundreds of cyclists took part last year and rode the equivalent of half way around the world to raise funds for the charity. Expect a mixture of quiet back roads, interspersed with some very demanding climbs and equally hairy descents. It definitely has something to offer for everyone! Prior to the event, entrance fees are £10 adults, £5 under 16s. On the day entrance fees are £15 and £8. Entry forms will be available soon.
