Exhibition shifts into Top Gear

The National Motor Museum is about to open its latest exhibition, ‘World of Top Gear’, centred on the world’s biggest and most popular motoring entertainment show.

A unique agreement between the National Motor Museum and BBC Worldwide will enable visitors to experience first-hand the unrivalled atmosphere, drama and humour of the TV show.

The new exhibition will recreate the feel of the famous Top Gear hangar and will showcase some of its iconic features at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, set in the heart of the New Forest.

The first of its kind, the exhibition will feature actual vehicles from Jeremy, Richard and James’ most ambitious – and foolhardy – challenges over the last twelve series, including amongst others, their amphibious cars – what is left of them – and their attempts at creating unique limousines.

Fans of the adrenaline-packed adventures and irreverent humour from the long-standing show will also be able to get an unrivalled glimpse behind-the-scenes, with stories from the presenters, and clips from some of the best moments over the years.

The World of Top Gear open on Friday, 19 June,2009 and can be seen as part of a visit to the whole Beaulieu attraction which includes the National Motor Museum, Palace House and 13th century Beaulieu Abbey ruins. For more information telephone 01590 612345 or visit www.beaulieu.co.uk
