Facebook comments are misleading

“I am very concerned about misleading comments made recently on the Ringwood Town Facebook page regarding the skate park.  The town council has made significant investment in new equipment and the maintenance of existing equipment in the last year and has fully involved users in this process.  It is therefore disappointing to see incorrect statements being made in a public forum by people who do not know all the facts,” said Ringwood Mayor Cllr Brian Terry.

The Ringwood Skate Park was completely refurbished in May of this year.  All the ramps were stripped back and repainted by a professional company.  The paint used is the best paint available and is used in skate parks across the country.  Skate park users were kept fully informed of these works, and some of them even helped with the painting.

The town council has agreed to form a working party to look into the provision of a new skate park.  However, there are no plans to have this in place by next summer.  The council is keen to involve users in planning for a new skate park, and if anyone is interested, please contact us on 01425 473883 or town.council@ringwood.gov.uk.
