A man who robbed an off-licence in Bournemouth – threatening staff with a hammer and stealing a small quantity of cash – has been jailed for four years.
Thirty-four year old Shaun Lee from Bournemouth was sent to prison after being convicted and sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on 23 January, 2009.
Lee pleaded guilty to robbing the ‘Bottoms Up’ off-licence in Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth, on 19 June, 2008.
He threatened a male member of staff with a hammer and stole a small quantity of cash. No-one was injured.
The court ordered the forfeiture and destruction of a hammer that Lee used in the ‘Bottoms Up’ robbery.
Lee also pleaded guilty to the attempted robbery of the Cheltenham and Gloucester in Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, on 19 June, 2008.
The court ruled that charge of attempted robbery should lie on file.
The officer in the case was Detective Constable Andy Bell of Bournemouth CID.
