After the Lapland attraction at Matchams hit the headlines for not providing the spectacle it promised and leaving hundreds of Christmas visitors disappointed and out of pocket; Ringwood town has stepped in with a festive event for free.
On Friday, December 5, the Ringwood will be welcoming the big Christmas event. There will be three camels with wise men, Mary and Joseph on donkeys and a real dog sleigh pulling Santa. There is also a Continental Christmas market and fairground rides.
It all starts at 6pm in the Furlong Centre and finishes at 8.30pm when many of the shops will be opening late.
It gets even better because on the following Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm and for every weekend leading up to Christmas, Santa will be in his delicious looking, quaint Gingerbread House in the Furlong Centre in Ringwood seeing children and giving them gingerbread men made fresh daily by the Aga Shop staff - and it is all free.
