The rate at which different children grow and develop is always fascinating, not least for the children themselves.
A Dorset school has used this fact to great effect by involving the children in measuring each other.
This term the children in Reception at Castle Court Prep School in Corfe Mullen have been learning about measuring.
In order to demonstrate height the youngest girls and boys were given the task of measuring the oldest children at the top of the school.
With the tallest child being 78cm taller than the shortest child, Maryanne Helllewell, Head of Early Years at Castle Court says, “The exercise proved quite difficult however it was a really good way of putting theory into practice and because the children had fun, they have remembered what they learnt .”
