A Corfe Mullen Bed & Breakfast is Dorset’s first gold award winner in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
Elms Lodge B&B received the award in recognition of their commitment to environmental business practices.
Europe’s leading ‘eco-label’ for tourism businesses, GTBS has been running since 1997, and with over 2000 members across the whole of the UK and Ireland, it is the largest and most established scheme of its type in the world.
Businesses opting to join Green Tourism are assessed by a qualified independent advisor against a rigorous set of criteria in areas such as energy and water efficiency. Those businesses that meet the required standard, receive a bronze, silver, or gold award based on their level of achievement.
Proprietors of Elms Lodge, Malcolm and Claire Kearley stated, “We are absolutely delighted to receive this prestigious green award. It endorses our commitment to eco-friendly practices within our business and lifestyle.”
