Guns and bloody skirmishes in Dorset

Experience booming guns and bloody skirmishes at Kingston Maurward College, on October 3 and 4, when the campus is transformed into a Napoleonic battlefield.

The highlight of the International Napoleonic Weekend on the Dorchester campus is due to be an enactment both days of Wellington’s pivotal military offensive against the French.

Other attractions include actors from popular TV series Sharpe, a 120sq ft model of the Battle of Waterloo complete with thousands of militia, and a Living History military encampment with British and French soldiers giving drill and skill at arms displays.

The college is also hosting a lavish period dinner on October 2, called Dine with the Duke, where guests can meet actor Jason Salkey (CORR) from Sharpe.

“The aim is to provide a great family weekend out as well as celebrate the 200th anniversary of the campaign which finally saw the defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte,” said Ivan Smith, commercial director at the college.
