Residents in the borough of Christchurch are invited to give views on Druitt Gardens landscape master plan, which has been created for an important part of the town centre.
A ‘drop-in’ day is being arranged to explain the proposals.
The preparation of the plan has involved several background studies including a topographical survey, a tree survey, an ecological survey and a desk-top archaeological assessment.
Cllr Alan Griffiths, leader of the council, said: “The master plan is designed to make a significant improvement to the local environment and to the character of the town centre conservation area. The enhancement of the gardens will bring with it indirect economic benefits to local businesses, improve pedestrian and cycling links and improve access and mobility in and around the gardens, making them a safer and more pleasant place to visit.“
The master plan is for consultation from 12 January until 20 February and copies can be viewed at the Civic Offices, the libraries and the Information Centre in the High Street.
The Druitt Guardians are also planning a drop-in day at Druitt Hall and in the gardens on Saturday 24 January from 10am to 3pm when members of the public can find out more about the proposals.
