As football pundits nationwide predict who will lift the coveted FA Cup on Saturday, Houdini, a North Pacific giant octopus at the Oceanarium, is using his magical powers to foresee which team in blue will clinch the cup.
After introducing two threads of different coloured balls to his display, it’s become clear which team Houdini favours for the final.
With all eight of his ‘legs’ choosing the balls associated with Everton, Houdini is undoubtedly backing the north west team for Saturday’s final.
Renowned for the special powers he possesses, this is the first time Houdini has turned his talents to football. Normally the octopus can be found changing shape to squeeze through tubes and, like all masters of illusion, modifying his colour and texture to fade into his surroundings.
Charlotte Brown, Marketing Manager at the Oceanarium Bournemouth, said: “We knew Houdini was talented, but had no idea his skills would turn him into a leading football pundit. Now all we have to do is wait until Saturday afternoon to see if Everton fulfil Houdini’s prediction and lift the trophy.”
