A competition to find the best Bloody Mary in Dorset is being held by the Urban Beach Hotel on Sunday, 25 April.
Bartenders, chefs, publicans and restaurateurs from across Dorset are being invited to compete from midday. Those taking part will put their (secret) recipes to the test and at 2pm a panel of judges will taste their way to the final four favourites. These four will compete for the coveted title of the best Bloody Mary in Dorset.
The judges, including Urban Beach manager, James Fowler, Tristan Stevenson of Fluid Movement, who worked as a bar manager at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen, Masterchef winner, Steve Groves and Justin Smyth, the Global Ambassador for Ketel One vodka, are looking for an inspired interpretation of this much-loved cocktail, along with a good balance of flavour and skillful presentation.
The four finalists will receive a prize and the overall winner will also enjoy a trip to the Ketel One Distillery in Schiedam, Holland and their winning recipe will become the official Ketel One Bloody Mary.
Registration deadline is Sunday April 11, 2010. For further information and to download and entry form visit www.urbanbeach.co.uk
