‘In Bloom’ judging takes place

Christchurch has been visited by South and South East in Bloom judges for assessment in this years ‘In Bloom’ awards.

The judges, Jean Griffin and Mike Ames, were shown around the borough by Christchurch Tourism Manager Ann Simon, and Senior Technical Officer Carina Gallacher. They visited the town centre, Mudeford and Highcliffe, with special visits to Christchurch Station, Mudeford Infants School, Mudeford Quay, Priory Quay and Christchurch Quay.

One of the judges, Jean Griffin, said, “It was a very comprehensive itinerary and I was pleasantly surprised to see the number of wildlife reserves in Christchurch and the environmental commitment which is evident in the town.”

The awards will be announced at a ceremony to be held in September. Meanwhile, judging for the local Christchurch in Bloom competition takes place on 27 and 28 July.
