Innovative Skatepark opened in Dorchester

Hundreds of people descended on Dorchester on 2 May to see the mayor officially open the new £200,000 state-of-the-art skatepark.

Inspired by industry leaders, designed by skaters and handcrafted out of concrete by Maverick, the most innovative skatepark specialists outside of the US, this is one of the most exciting parks in the UK.

Before cutting the ribbon, the mayor praised the skatepark committee and council for their twelve years of hard work.

Russell Holbert, park designer for Maverick said, "We are delighted to have been involved with this project and Dorchester now has one of the top skate facilities in the UK. Seeing it so well received by the usergroup, council and locals today has been the icing on the cake."
