Keep those tails wagging

The UK pet insurance supplier Petplan has awarded the Dorset-based Waggy Tails rescue home with a £500 donation.

Waggy Tails is a small animal welfare organisation that relies on donation and sponsorship as well as volunteers to help look after and re-home stray and abandoned dogs.

Shelagh Meredith, manager of the home says, "We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this cheque by Petplan. It’s a fantastic boost that will go towards our ‘property fund.’ We are seeking a new location to create an animal sanctuary for all the dogs we have. With an increase in the number of dogs being turned away by larger rescue charities, we aim to help where we can.”

Petplan works with many re-homing charities, helping to fund care for thousands of homeless animals. The company also offers four weeks of free insurance to every owner adopting animals through the shelters it supports.

Cats Protection, Blue Cross and Dogs trust have also benefited.
