Labour of love benefits mums-to-be

Expectant mums in Dorset and Hampshire have been signing up for inspirational tips on handling labour from a Verwood-based natural birth expert.

The demand for places has prompted Rosa Davies to run new classes in Poole in addition to her series already under way at venues in Bournemouth and Ringwood.

Ms Davies, a professional birth educator, said, “These friendly and interactive classes help women prepare mentally, physically and emotionally.

“The hands-on teaching style enables pregnant women to take more active control of their birth process through yoga-based exercises, breath work, pain coping techniques and understanding positions that are helpful for birth.

“This participatory approach encourages confidence and trust in women that birth can be a natural process. Birth is an exciting, special time but it can be daunting for many women so we look at how to keep you feeling positive even if it doesn’t always go as planned.”

The next series of Labour of Love birth preparation classes will be held over six weeks at the Zen Zone holistic therapy centre, 2a Davis Road, Parkstone, starting on Wednesday 18 February. For more information, contact Ms Davies on 01202 828348.
