Safer Neighbourhood officers in Christchurch are issuing advice to residents following a spate of thefts from vehicles.

PCSO Matt Saunders of North Christchurch Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “Thankfully, we have received a good description of a vehicle and possible offender leaving the scene after one of the incidents.

“We are particularly interested in a young male driving a dark coloured, possibly red, old style Mini.”

PCSO Saunders urges residents to not only lock their vehicles overnight, whether parked on the street or in a driveway, but also to clear the contents including the glove box and any other storage compartments.
