TWO work colleagues aim to raise £3,000 between them in the Flora London Marathon for a Bournemouth-based charity which makes wishes come true for children with life-threatening illnesses.
They are among 45 runners set to boost the funds of Round Table Children’s Wish by tens of thousands of pounds.
Phil Wadsworth, 43, from Poole, and Luke Best, 35, from Bournemouth, are account managers at Ringwood-based Canotec, a photocopier technology specialist.
The 17-year-old company has a long-standing association with the charity, having raised more than £25,000 to date.
Phil last ran a marathon 23 years ago, while it is first time for Luke. Both men have pledged to raise £1,500 each.
They are notching up to 25 miles a week along the seafront in Bournemouth and Poole and will be sporting the Round Table Children’s Wish running vests during training as well as in the race on April 26.
Sponsorship can be made through www.justgiving.com/philipwadsworth or www.justgiving.com/lukebest.
