Chief Superintendent Lynn Hart received an MBE in the Queens Birthday Honours list for services to policing.
Lynn Hart, Bournemouth and Poole Divisional Commander, said, “I'm honoured and humbled to be receiving this award as I go into my thirty-sixth year of service with Dorset Police.”
Lynn, aged 52, joined Dorset Police in 1975 as a cadet at the age of 17 and became a police officer shortly after. Whilst rising through the ranks, she worked in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and at force headquarters in Winfrith. In 2008, she was promoted to chief superintendent, where she merged the old Eastern and Western divisions to create Dorset County Division. Later in 2008, she moved to take command of the Bournemouth and Poole division where she remains today.
She continued, "I couldn't have achieved the award without the support of my family, colleagues – police officers, police staff and volunteers – and partner agencies. I am accepting the award on behalf of all of them."
