Mindless malicious vandalism

An appeal for any information regarding vandalism to the play facilities at Carvers Recreation Ground has been issued by Dorset Police.

Whilst litter picking on the morning of Saturday 17 July, eagle eyed groundsmen spotted lengths of barbed wire, rusty saw blades and small pieces of glass spread over the ground. There were over 100 dangerous items, all of which could have done serious harm to toddlers using the facilities.

Ringwood Town Clerk, Terry Simpson said, “This is nothing more than mindless, malicious vandalism intended to cause injury to users of the area who just happen to be toddlers.”

A fingertip search has been carried out by ground staff and the play area has been cleared to make it safe to be used again. The police have visited the site and a reward is being offered for any information leading to any conviction.

Please contact Terry Simpson on 01425 473883 with regards to any information.
