Ferndown fire station opened its doors to local people on 25 July. Visitors had a look around the station and saw displays of firemen being ‘rescued’ from the top of the tower by a fire engine. Despite being called out on a couple of occasions, everyone was kept entertained by face painters, equipment displays, hosepipe target practice, and a barbecue. Dorset Fire and Rescue Service officers and community support officers were also on hand to offer advice on fire safety and crime prevention.
