David McIntosh, Director of Support Services at Cotswold District Council, has been appointed as the chief executive of East Dorset District Council.
He replaces Alan Breakwell, who retires at the end of July after 22 years in charge.
Leader of East Dorset District Council, Cllr Spencer said, “David is an excellent candidate who has been selected from a very strong shortlist. He joins the council at an exciting and challenging time and we shall meet these challenges together. He will bring with him fresh ideas and new ways of doing things and I look forward to working successfully with him.”
David McIntosh, said: ”I am excited to be joining East Dorset. It is a beautiful part of the country and an excellent place to live and work. I look forward to joining a strong and committed team at the council and making a positive difference for the residents of East Dorset.”
Born and raised in Dundee, David is married with four children. He will take up his new post on Monday 3 August.
