Eneco has now entered the formal consultation period for the project and will be holding eight public exhibitions at Swanage, Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, West Moors, New Milton, Lymington and the Isle of Wight to provide people with information and updates on Navitus Bay, along with the next steps. There will also be an opportunity to speak with a member of the development team and provide feedback on the proposals.
The public exhibitions will be held at the following venues and times from Tuesday, 21 February to Saturday, 3 March 2012:
The final design of Navitus Bay Wind Park, both onshore and offshore, will be determined only after comprehensive consultation with the public and relevant organisations throughout the formal consultation period of the project which will last until the end of 2013.
Roger Long of West Moors Homewatch said, “An intermediate sub station is to be sited just to the north of West Moors. The intermediate sub station which will be sited to the north of West Moors will be fed by cables from the offshore wind farm - these cables will be routed through our Plantation. West Moors could be affected very much by this project because the excavation works to sink the cables underground could be very extensive."
If you are unable to attend any of the public exhibitions, but would like more information, please visit www.navitusbaywindpark.co.uk.
