Twenty seven officers from Christchurch Council’s Civic Offices and Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre joined Team Green Britain’s Bike Week campaign in June by cycling or walking to work instead of using cars for one day.
In total they covered 213 miles. On average, British cars emit 166 grams of CO2 per kilometer, so 56,891 grams of CO2 were saved due to their efforts. They also collectively saved £85.20 on fuel.
