Paddle Power

Dorset Wildlife Trust is looking for two teams to take part in this Spring Bank Holiday’s Dragon Boat Race at Sherborne Castle Country Fair on 25 May.

This exciting and fast paced sport will see crews of seventeen people paddling across the lake at full power. The boats are long canoes with a dragon’s head and tail and based on the ancient Chinese sport.

Each team will have a minimum of three races, with the fastest teams racing again in the finals. There will be great prizes for the winning crews and the most entertaining crew.

No experience is necessary and the event is professionally run with full safety checks.

Entry per team is £150 and each team is asked to raise a minimum of £600 for the charity.  Kizzy Brown, Fundraising and Marketing Manager at Dorset Wildlife Trust, said: “This is a great event for groups from work, friends, families or a mixture of all three to take part in. It is so much fun and a great day out for all the family; I really would encourage people to sign up and take part. And the sponsorship only works out at just £35 per person!”
