Mike Boss loves a challenge and his latest fund-raising idea is to pedal across the Solent.
He will be setting off through the busy shipping lanes on 6 June from Stokes Bay, Gosport in a humble pedalo.
Along with friend and co-pilot Mark Nalder, Mike will be raising funds for Salisbury District Hospital's Stars Appeal, Wessex Rehabilitation Fund, after the Wessex Rehabilitation Centre helped him recover from a serious arm injury five years ago.
No stranger to bizarre charity events, Mike has previously posed nude for a hospice cookbook and dressed as a Victorian lady in a crowd of 25,000 northern football fans.
His attempt at The Great Solent Pedal is a way of thanking the team at the centre for helping him make such an amazing recovery and to help raise awareness of the life-changing effect that the centre can have on accident victims.
