Preparations Underway for Great Dorset Steam Fair

Organisers of the Great Dorset Steam Fair 2011, which takes place from 31 August to 4 September in Tarrant Hinton, have added two new stunt displays to the agenda. This is thought to bring even more people to this ever popular event.

The new stunt displays include demonstrations by The White Helmets, part of the Army and in particular the Royal Corps of Signals. This will be the first time The White Helmets, a mixture of unique feats of balance, skill and coordination and high impact high speed cross over rides, will feature at the Steam Fair. The team was formed in 1927 making it the oldest motorcycle display team, featuring popular trademark acts such as the fire jump, car jump and reverse rides.

The International Big Pete Monster Truck Display Team, which features racing, car crushing and a tug of war, is also a new stunt display for this year. The UK’s number one Monster Truck team provides a unique approach to monster truck displays and is expected to be hugely popular. The team’s spectacular and exciting shows have captivated crowds at many high profile events across the UK and Europe for over 30 years.

The Great Dorset Steam Fair is a typical British event offering a unique blend of nostalgia and entertainment. The World’s largest heritage and cultural event showcasing our national industrial, agricultural and leisure history. Come and soak up the special festival atmosphere whether as a day visitor or taking in the full five days by camping on site.  There is no other event like it anywhere in the world which is why over 200,000 visitors attend each year from both the UK and abroad.
