Racial assault in Poole

Police in Poole are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was assaulted in a racial attack in Poole town centre on  Saturday, 20  June.

The 28-year-old from Poland, who lives in Poole, was on the dance floor in Yates bar in the High Street at 11pm when the assault took place.  The victim was kicked repeatedly in the head and body by four women and sustained extensive bruising.

Police Constable Fay Sweeting, of Poole police, said: “This was a serious and a racially aggravated assault - the victim was dancing when a woman approached her and asked where she was from.

“She was then grabbed by the hair and pulled to the ground and three other woman began kicking and punching her.”

PC Sweeting continued: “There were a number of people in the bar and I would like to hear from all those who were there at the time and who witnessed this incident, and from anyone who has any information about the culprits, as soon as possible.”
