Police in Poole are appealing for witnesses and information after a boat was stolen from Cobbs Quay, Hamworthy.
The boat – a 3.3 metre Ribeye 330 Tender with a Yamaha 15 horse power engine – is believed to have been taken between 8pm and 11pm on Saturday, 13 June 2009 before the gates to Cobbs Quay closed.
Police Constable Luke Davis, from Poole Police, said: “The trailer, on which the boat was sitting, was also taken, suggesting that the boat wasn’t taken to the water and is likely to have been moved by road.
“I’m keen to speak to a young man seen in the Cobbs Quay area earlier in the evening on Saturday, 13 June. He is described as white, aged in his late teens and wearing black tracksuit bottoms that were tucked into his socks. I believe he was on a black mountain bike.
“I’d also like to hear from anyone who witnessed this theft or has seen the boat since Saturday, 13 June.
“Equally, if anyone has been offered a boat for sale at an unusually cheap price or in unusual circumstances I’d like to hear from them as soon as possible.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police on 01202 222 222 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
