First Wimborne Minster Scout Group held an open day on 18 September as part of their centenary celebrations.
Past members were welcomed back including Eddie Wood from Melksham, who was a Scout in the 1940s, when the late John Loader was Scoutmaster.
The Minster Green was transformed into an activity area with a climbing tower and visitors could also learn how to make rope, woggles and badges. The next celebratory event is a community one. The Rotary Club of Wimborne assisted by the Scouts will plant 5000 purple crocus bulbs in the grounds of the new Waitrose Store on Saturday 2 October.
