Seat of remembrance
A seat in memory of young Rifleman Phil Allen, who lost his life in Afghanistan last November, was unveiled on Saturday, 7 August on Ferret Green in Verwood.
Those attending included Four Rifles, Lieutenant Colonel Geoff Nicholls, Colonel Rob Thompson, the Mayor of Verwood Cllr Jean Hazel, Phil’s mother Mrs Karen Charman Allen, his fiancée Miss Karina Pharoah, Miss Natasha Charman Allen, HM Lord Lieutenant of Dorset Mrs Anthony Pitt-Rivers, and Colonel Andrew Edwards.
