Residents in Verwood are the latest Dorset Library Service users to benefit from new self-service facilities being rolled out across the county.
The user-friendly technology provides customers with quick, easy and independent access to library stock, including books and DVDs.
Verwood follows in the footsteps of libraries including Weymouth, Dorchester, and Wareham where customers are now using self-service.
Dorset County Councillor for Verwood and Three Legged Cross, Toni Coombs, said: “I’m sure that people in Verwood and the surrounding area will enjoy using the new self service points."
The change is part of a modernisation programme being carried out by Dorset County Council across its libraries.
Further self-service systems will soon be introduced elsewhere including Blandford, Ferndown and Sturminster Newton.
