Sensory garden given an Eco finish

Big-hearted bosses at a Christchurch company have won praise after riding to the rescue of a community garden project.

Just three hours after receiving a plea for help, Eco Sustainable Solutions had delivered a two-tonne consignment of bark wood chip free of charge to complete the sensory garden in Ringwood Memorial Garden.

The sensory garden was created by Raymond Brown employees who volunteered their time as part of a two-year management development course.

“Eco were fantastic and we’re really grateful for their help,” said Colin Bolam, Raymond Brown’s Sales Director. “They pulled out all the stops and were on site within a few hours.”

An official ribbon-cutting ceremony was held later the same day with Ringwood Mayor, Cllr Christine Ford, describing the end result as “terrific.”

She added, “I am absolutely thrilled with the garden. The transformation is amazing.”

Peter Hardy, Eco’s Sales Manager, said, “We’re great believers in putting something back into the community and were delighted to respond promptly to Raymond Brown’s call for assistance.”
