Serious assault in Poole

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was assaulted and left with a serious eye injury in the town.

The 30-year-old victim was in St Patrick’s Bar, Ashley Cross at 11.30pm on Friday, 19 June, when a woman walked up and hit her in the face with a shoe.

Police Constable Fay Sweeting, of Poole police, said: “This appeared to be an unprovoked attack - the victim and her friend were enjoying a night out when she was hit in the face with a shoe for no apparent reason.

“The victim left the bar and when outside she was attacked again – this time by four women.”

The offender in the first attack is described as in her mid-thirties, slim, with shoulder-length straight blonde hair and was wearing a stripy white and pink top with jeans.

PC Fay Sweeting of Poole Police also said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this assault, and anyone who has any information about the women responsible, to contact me urgently.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 01202 or 01305 22 22 22 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
