The winners of our Short Story Competition are:
1st prize: winning publication in Town and Village (planned for January 2009), £75 cash and a copy of Della Galton’s book on ‘How to write and sell short stories’ was Veronica Bright from Cornwall with ‘African Sanctus.’.
Veronica (pictured) has lived in Cornwall with her husband Roy since 1988, and they have three grown up children and three grandchildren. She retired early when numbers dropped at school. Five years on, she is enjoying the freedom and opportunity to try all sorts of activities there was no time for when teaching. Veronica won the Woman and Home annual short story competition in 2005, and is delighted to have won the Town & Village competition with her winter’s tale.
