Shotgun safety

Shotgun safety is once again on offer in Dorset – with the next safety course being held on Saturday, 8 August 2009.

The course takes place at Winfrith Technology Centre, near Dorchester, and is aimed at responsible shotgun licence holders and those considering applying for a shotgun licence.

It will help increase awareness and confidence of licence holders in terms of certificate procedures, gun and shooting safety tips, carriage of a gun and the legislation in place for licence holders.

Firearms Enquiry Officer, Danny Bothwick, said: “The safety course is a fantastic opportunity for members of the shooting community to receive instruction from our expert officers about safety and legislation.”

The course costs £25 and lasts for four hours.
