Going to the dentist has never been so good!
It’s a rare person who enjoys a trip to the dentist. Most people have fears or phobias, whether from childhood or a painful experience as an adult. Some even gag during a check up.
Advances have been introduced over time to help ease the stress during treatment, like injections to numb the mouth and paste to anaesthetize the gums before an injection, but if you’re like me, there is nothing that alleviates the fear when the needle is actually brandished.
At last there is a solution and it is available locally from the revolutionary Smile Team dental practice in West Moors.
Light conscious sedation, otherwise known as ‘Happy Air’, is now on offer at this innovative practice and will put even the most fearful person’s mind at rest.
This completely safe method not only prevents the gag reflex, but relaxes the patient to such an extent that treatment can be carried out without anxiety.
It doesn’t take away the need for injections, but will get the patient sufficiently relaxed to the point of not being worried whether an injection is needed or not.
Our graphic design director, Ben, who admitted he hadn’t been to the dentist for nearly six years popped into the practice and had a free trial.
He wore a small mask across his nose and it took several minutes to reach a state when he was sufficiently relaxed. At this point, the dentist Peter Mounce, was able to carry out a thorough dental check without the need for any pause. It was incredible to watch.
With relaxing music and a DVD of clouds floating by, Ben found his dental experience an entirely happy one and left the room with a big smile.
This dental practice in West Moors certainly lives up to its name. The Smile Team are not only renowned for returning the smile to the faces of those who are self conscious about their teeth by providing whitening, crowns, implants and inlays, but can now do the work in a environment so relaxing, fears become a thing of the past. To top the whole service, the Smile Team can even smooth away any fine worry lines on your face using Restylane and other facial muscle relaxants for an absolutely perfect smile. The benefit of using ‘Happy Air’ is that no local anaesthetic is normally necessary.
The Smile Team is offering free 15 minute sessions with ‘Happy Air’. These must be booked in advance. Call today to take up this special offer - 01202 871053.
